Rotational
Symmetry - Introduction
|
|
| You all
know about simple line symmetry, also
called reflective symmetry.
Shapes that have reflective symmetry can be folded along a centre line and the two sides will match. You have probably used reflective symmetry to cut out or paint a butterfly at some point.
Rotational symmetry is similar, but instead of folding along an axis, the shape is turned around a point to see if it repeats more than once in a full turn. |
